Thursday 15th June
The Trustees of the Kathleen Ferrier Memorial Scholarship Fund are presenting a very special celebration event on Thursday 15th June this year. Having passed the 50-year milestone, The Kathleen Ferrier Memorial Trust is looking forward to another successful fifty years as the most prestigious of British song competitions. The high regard in which the competition is held is reflected in the fact that, of all the awards and accolades that a young singer can gain, the one they all without fail continue to mention in their biographies when they are famous (as are many of our previous winners) is the Kathleen Ferrier Award. To celebrate the legacy of this extraordinary singer and remind us of what admiration and affection she aroused in her listeners around the world, we are hosting an evening presenting three stars from our list of past Ferrier winners. Joan Rodgers, Felicity Palmer and Bryn Terfel with pianists Christopher Glynn & Simon Lepper, both previous winners of the Ferrier accompanist’s prize, will be singing for us in the sumptuous Great Gallery at the Wallace Collection, preceded by a champagne reception in the glass-domed Sculpture Garden.
The reception starts at 6.30pm and guests will have the opportunity to wander round the galleries housing the wonderful artefacts of the Wallace Collection before the recital starts at 7.45pm. Tickets for the evening are £150 each.
